Exclamation My internal SD card reader does not work (Medion Titanium MD 8386)

I have a Medion Titanium MD 8386 and for some reason my SD card reader in my computer has not been working. When i put a card into it nothing happens, the small green light doesn't light up and nothing comes up on the computer. I installed all the SD card drivers on the XP disk provided with the computer, but it still doesnt work. This SD card reader used to work a long time ago, but doesn't anymore. I cleaned out the dust inside my computer not long ago as well.
Please help!

Hi, I had the same problem with my medion MD8386, and i searched everywhere for a remedy. I finally found it in the troubleshooting guide on the medion website.

The way to resolve the malfunction is to turn off the computer, then turn the main switch off at the back , below the power cable. The computer is now completely off, now press and hold the front power button with the globe logo on for about 1 min. This resets some stuff inside (dont worry, nothing serious) and fixes it completely.

Turn the main switch back on, then turn on with the power button on the front as normal, the card reader will now work as normal.

Hope this helps ,
adam

ˇˇYes!! I had the very same problem and now it works again. I'm sorry but I thought it was a joke, because... how can do the PC anything inside with the power off? But, it was not a joke and my sd card reader is ok now.
Thank you very much.

Sorry for my english. I am spanish.
