Missing file after virus scan

I scanned my pc with avast home (which i use). After that when i start windows it gives an error message :

"Cannot find the file SSVICHOSST.exe (or one of its component). make sure the path & fileneme are correct and that all required libraries are available"

I use windows 2000(NT).

Can anybody please help me with this?

Thanks anyway.

Re: Missing file after virus scan

It sounds like your PC is trying to load a virused file that's been removed.

Download and install Hijack This!, do a scan and post your log file.
