Exclamation Losing My PC Games

I am going to instal a new MoBo, Pros., and RAM but I am afrade that I will lose my games. When I change the parts I will nead to reinstal the OS and that will erase my HDD...right? Other then that, most games now require you to activate it online so it can't be used on multiple computers so if they are not erased will they work with a new MoBo and Pros.

Right now I have Windows XP x64, when I change out the parts I will instal Win. XP x32 (it's a 64 bit sys. but I can get x32 for free), and later when Win. 7 x64 comes out I will instal that.

Thanks for any help

Re: Losing My PC Games

Hi Zanatsu,

Upgrading a motherboard, processor and RAM will not erase your data as it is all stored on the hard drive. As long as everything goes smoothly, you can upgrade those components and have all your data still intact!

Unless absolutely necessary, I wouldn't reinstall the OS as it wouldn't have any benefit for you. If you have to, create another hard drive partition to put the new OS on, so you can keep all your old data, like video games, on the system.
