| Help please! Choosing the Right Software for a Math Teacher I just bought the Toshiba Satellite Tablet PC. I’m a college math teacher, and want to use it in teaching my online algebra courses. I need advice on getting/using the right software (free or inexpensive, hopefully) to do the following. I downloaded the Educational Pack, am using a free trial of PDF annotator, and have Windows Journal, One Note, etc. I want a program that makes it really easy to change pen colors, etc. (as in Windows Journal), but something I can easily save to pdf files to post for my students. I tried the Equation Writer, but couldn’t copy the equation in the PDF annotator. I want to be able to write in word docs or on pdfs, or copy text, etc., into a program where I can then make pdfs. Also, I’m not sure what program is best for recording as I write, and how that works. Any suggestions? I need help! Thanks! Last edited by LPH; 10-06-2006 at 02:16 AM.. |

| The first piece of software to come to mind is xThink's MathJournal. Check through the software on Tablet PC Post and see if some others fit, too.

| Are you trying to create worksheets and exams? With the Learning Essentials and Equation Writer you should be able to create them fairly quickly and easily. Learning Essentials 1.5 is a new release. It's a free Office add-in. You'll create the worksheet or test in Word and Learning Essentials, and then you can paste the equations into that worksheet. If you want to ink over an area, just use the ink toolbar in Word. Give it a try to see if it's what you're trying to do, then post back if you need step by step instructions. |
