OSX 4.8 installation problem

Hi everyone,

After many years of never having a problem with Mac OS updates. I have
now hit a snag with the latest just released.

I have a MacBook Pro updated the OS from OSX 4.7 to 4.8. The
installation went without a hitch, however when it rebooted, I have
found that I now have a black rectangle enclosing my pointer. The
rectangle has a thick black boarder and is about 5x4 cm. It even has an
accompanying shadow and moves as I move my pointer.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as it is very annoying.

TIA,

Danny

I think Greg is just a bit grumpy about the terminology here.

Technically there is no such thing as X.4.8, because it is called "Mac
OS 'Eks'", and then the version number, 10.x.y. The 'X' should not be
read as a Roman numeral, or at least not as part of the version number.

Have a nice day! :-)

You'll have to be the one to tell Mr. Jobs.

That, we agree on. The product is pronounced "Mac Oh Ess Ten" and the
version number for the latest public release is 10.4.8 (plus, debatably,
a build number).

Turn off "Show preview rectangle" in the Zoom options of "Universal

Is that really something to get your knickers all twisted about? Did you
truly not understand what the OP meant when he mentioned "4.8" or are
you just being a pedantic lout? Irregardless, usage trumps pedantry any
day.
