| Java Questions Hi everyone, I have a few questions relating to Java which have been bugging me literally for years now. I hope someone can help. I have always had problems using Java on my Mac. I was using a Powerbook G4 and recently bought a MacBook Pro. The problem seems to have migrated with me to the new computer. I am up-to-date with all the system software. Java has always refused to run on Java. When I run a web page which requires Java eg a bank site or chat room, I get a message saying that the page is attempting to load Java content but Java is unavailable to uninstalled. This same message also appears in several other web browsers e.g. Firefox and OmniWeb. For some reason however, Camino has always worked for me. However, I just updated to Camino 1.0.3 and java suddenly stopped working. I re-installed 1.0.2 and all worked fine again. I have tried re-installing Java 1.4.2 from the Apple Web site but it tells me that my system does not need updating. I have also tried repairing permissions from Disk Utility. I have tried accessing Java web sites from other people's computers and have never had any problems. If anyone is able to help I'd be really appreciative. TIA, Danny |
