| Refurb iPod Nano and USB 1.1 I am one of the few people without an iPod. I am thinking about buying a refurbished iPod nano from Apple, will it work with my 2001 iBook which only has USB 1.1? Also, I have an external DVD burner with FW and USB 2 and I connect it to the iBook with FW so the USB port is empty. If the nano won't work with 1.1, can I connect it with the DVD port? Is there any chance that using the DVD's USB port will get me decent transfer speed? I'm hoping that the data will move to the DVD by FW and then go to the nano at USB 2.0 speeds. The latest iPods are advertized as having simple calendar and address functionality. There is no mention of this on the apple webpage advertizing the refurb nanos. Is this feature old enough to be on the refurbed nanos? One last question, is buying a refurbed nano wise, or are these things unreliable? I have never bought any refurbed items before. |
