Microsoft wireless notebook mouse 4000 with PowerBook

Anyone else got one of these? Mine arrived yesterday. I'm using it with
a 12 inch PB running 10.4.latest with the Microsoft driver loaded. I
wanted it for presentations so I could be a bit further from the PB, I
don't want to use it when using the PB as a lap warmer.

I've 2 problems

1) The re-boot after the software install stayed on the spinning wait
forever, or at least long enough for me to give up and power cycle.

2) When I boot and login I sometimes find it in a state as if the
magnify button had been clicked, even if the mouse receiver is not
plugged in which makes it difficult to shrink back down ;>(

Anyone else seen similar problems?
