Hello,

Something has happened recently such that my TiBook does not mount or
recognize some (but not all DVDs). One of my movie DVDs and one DVD
burned with digital pictures will not mount on my laptop but does on my
iBook G4.

Any ideas and solutions will be appreciated.

Try putting in the DVD, then open Disk Utility and select the DVD in the
left window, then at the top click the Mount button. If that doesn't mount
it, I don't know what to do next (though you may try to fix permissions).

Try putting in the DVD, then open Disk Utility and select the DVD in the
left window, then at the top click the Mount button. If that doesn't mount
it, I don't know what to do next (though you may try to fix permissions).

My TiBook is sometimes temperamental about mounting DVDs or CDs.
Frankly, it's something that giving it a good whack often fixes.
(Sometimes you have to put these machines in their places.)

I have fixed Permissions without any change in failure to mount the
DVDs. Also, it does not mount in the Disc Utility program just as it
does not mount on the desktop.
