Word

My sons Apple has developed an odd problem. If he has a Word attachment
and double click it opens up fine. If he tries to open Word as an
application it fails. He has run a full scan with his AV and it has
shown up
not problems. He is using Mac OS X. Anyone know what the problem could
be.

The first thing I would have him try is to exit all applications and
start "Disk Utility" In Disk Utility, select the startup volume
(presumably that's where the Word application is) and click "Repair Disk
Permissions". This is something you should do from time to time and it
often fixes niggling problems like this.

Might work, and you probably are overdue to do it anyway.
