| CD burned in iTunes is RO & locks out other CDs I just burned a CD composed of a playlist of purchased iTunes songs, converted to AIFF songs, to create a regular audio CD. The audio CD plays just fine, but I have these weird effects: The burned CD says it is "Read Only." Unlike a retail CD, I can't copy the AIFF files on it my desktop or to a hard drive. When I try to eject this CD, it asks me (and I have Admin privileges) to enter my password in order to eject it! What's more, after I insert this CD I burned and then eject it, *any* CD, retail or blank, that I put in after it refuses to show up on the desktop! The only way to get CDs to appear after putting in this particular iTunes CD is to restart my machine. Simply logging out doesn't seem to reset whatever permissions (and who knows what else is being (apparently) set by this CD. Do iTunes burned AIFF audio CDs that have converted purchased iTunes songs set up by Apple to work this way? Does an iTunes burned AIFF CD become Read Only? And even if so, why would simply loading this CD make is impossible to see any CD after it was put in after it? Surely iTunes isn't this machiavellian! Anyone else run into this, or did I just burn a bizarre CD that is somehow messing with permission and that created itself as a Read Only audio CD? Thanks! Steve |
