| Busy TruBlueEnv question I'm trying to figure out why my almost new powerbook (15 ", 1.67 GHz, 2 GB RAM) has such terrible battery life. I think a fully charged battery only lasts about an hour. I've tried two new batteries and both seem to last about that long. I don't think it did this when it was brand new, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I was thinking that there might be some unusual hidden process or program running the background that is sucking up cycles and battery. I'm particularly suspicious of Spotlight, which I absolutely detest. If I run top -u in a Terminal, I see that the TruBlueEnv is the big system hog, sometimes using up to 60% or so of the cpu. Even if there are not any programs running. Is that normal? Could I have some goofy system maintenence program wasting my cpu cycles? I guess I do have a anti-virus program |
