iPod: best protective case?

I couldn't find an iPod group and hope this question is ok here. For a
30GB video iPod, what kind of case would best protect the unit's
internal mechanisms from damage if it were dropped accidentally? I've
seen leather cases, clear hard plastic cases, and rubbery cases.
Thanks

Are you only really concerned about protecting the ipod? Do your needs also
include that the case mut allow for docking? Mus the iPod still look cool?
There are lot of options and the ones that protect the most usually look the
ugliest. Otterbox is the only company that I know that says it protects the
ipod in a drop. However they don't have a model for the 30GB video.

No matter what case you get if you drop it while the hard drive is spinning,
loading one of your tunes, there is a liklihood that there will be hard
drive damage. The skip-protection feature of the ipod lessens the liklihood
a drop related failure. However it does not eliminate it. Look for cases
that have a rugged shell and foam padding inside. This combination will
work best for protection.
