mouse acceleration?

Brand new G5 iMac, 2.0Ghz, 20" screen
First using the supplied mouse (terrible) and now my Logitech cordless
(much better) it seems that if I move the mouse quickly versus slowly
the pointer seems to move farther versus not.
Anyone else, who reads this group, notice this?
Maybe the bigger screen is just magnifying an effect that is normal, but
it's driving me crazy.

This is standard Mac behavior and has been (AFAIK) since 1984: the
faster you move the mouse, the more the on-screen pointer moves relative
to the mouse. In pre-X Mac OS, it was possible to tweak acceleration
values by editing a table, but I don't know how this is currently done
in OS X.

That's wild that I never noticed it before. I guess the tiny screen on
my old iMac masked the effect.
Thanks,

When I made the same change you just did to a new iMac, I found my Kensington
mouse settings were really wierd and I had to reset them. Kensington's
software (and I assume Logitech's) includes the ability to fine tune the
settings for the acceleration so you can probably set this up to what you are
used to.
