Which internal HD for TiBook?

Hello,

Old hard drive has given up the ghost. I think the following drive
should work, but I'm not sure:

HITACHI Travelstar 4K40 HTS424040M9AT00(13G1132) 40GB 4200 RPM 2MB Cache
Notebook Hard Drive - OEM

(this is from NewEgg, by the way)

Does anyone know if this should work? Can anyone tell me what specs
I should look for for a replacement drive? Suggestions on where to find
instructions for installation? (This machine is way out of warranty, so
I'm willing to try it myself.)

THANKS!

Todd

I think the Travelstar was actually made by IBM (hence the OEM?). I've
used them in PowerBooks before but can't comment on this specific
drive.

Hitachi bought IBM's HD business but the name still includes IBM.

Hitachi/IBM makes very good drives. Most of them have 3 yr warranties.
I put one in my TiBook and have been very pleased. If I can make a
recommendation on your selection, go for a faster than 4200 rpm drive
and one with an 8mb cache. You'll appreciate the extra speed and the
price isn't that much higher. I got mine from zipzoomfly.com--good
price, prompt shipping.
