Migration from Entourage to Mail/iCal/Addressbook

Is this the right group to ask for help regarding Mail/iCal/Addressbook
when migrating from Entourage 2004?

You may want to try microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage which is full of
knowledgeable Entourage folks.

But I guess they're the ones I'm leaving. What I need is advice from the
ones I'm joining. People that have made the same move and have solved
some of the (admitted; minor) problems I'm trying to solve.

Is this the right place for that?

My questions are these (and I'm sure more will follow, once I'm on top
of these first ones):

1) In importing contacts to AddressBook the birthday entries *sometimes*
haven't come along. This seems to be only in some cases and not in
others. What separates them, I'm not sure.

2) Some of the birthdays that *have* been imported seem formatted all
wrong. For instance friend born in 1940 is suddenly moved to 2040. Other
birthdays are suddenly entered more than one time. How can I clean that
up?

3) Groups are transferred only in some cases and only with some of the
names/addresses. Again I'm not sure what criteria the syncscript (sync
Entourage - Adressbook) uses.

4) iCal imports all my birthday entries (the ones from Entourage named
"Birthday: ***" but not the Alarms/reminders that I have set in
Entourage. Is there a way to set an alarm for all those entries?
Automator perhaps?

5) It also seems to add birthdays taken from Addressbook entries and
placing them in the Calendar next to the ones from Entourage.
6) It sets up two (2) Birthday Calendars (one red and one green) with a
little symbol to the right of them. These entries can't be deleted or
modified it seems

7) Why are there two Birthday-like calendars in iCal

I appreciate any help

Carsten

First, what I'm sayin' is that if there are other people with your (or
similar) questions, I'll bet that some of them lurk in m.p.m.o.e

Second, you may also want to consider posting (individually) your questions
to the appropriate section of Discussions at http://www.apple.com (look
under Support)...

I anticipate their response would be "Why would you want to do that?

You'll get better results in comp.sys.mac.comm or comp.sys.mac.apps. As
Stu has mentioned, also check the relevant forums at
<http://discussions.info.apple.com/>.
