| Why occasionally a refusal to be purged when emptying trash? Occasionally for a file I've sent to the trash such as a .jpg file I'll get the message from the system "file in use cannot empty" or similar if I attempt to empty trash. If I restart the no longer wanted file disappears. Is this "typical" behaviour? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |

The next time you see the behavior you describe, try running the Activity Monitor (it's in the Utilities folder within the Applications folder on my OS X 10.3.9 system). It should show you what's going on. |
