PC CRT monitor and Powermac

Someone is giving me an dold powermac (not sure the model, perhaps a
G3) and I was wondering if a standard CRT monitor that I used with a
PC will work with it? or do i need a special 'mac' monitor?
thanks.

You need an adapter plug to install between the monitor plug and the
Mac.

The adapter has several micro switches on it.

This is the first one I turned up at Google

0095>

Price may vary but these are readily available all over. Any place
that sells Mac stuff should have these.

Google "Macintosh to VGA adapter"

I have an IBM G74 17 inch monitor on my Mac G3 right now with one of
these.

Sure, but you may need an adaptor for the monitor.

Short answer-- it depends... starting around 1994 or so, most Mac models
started using IDE drives.

Macs older than that used SCSI hard drives; Macs newer than that
(mostly) use IDE.
