Tiger, Eudora, PGP - obscure bug

This note is probably relevant only to people with Tiger, Eudora and
PGP.

After updating to Tiger, I was forced to update PGP Personal Desktop to
version 9.

A while later, I found that Eudora was not working. Neither version 6.2
nor earlier versions. I spent an enormous amount of time trying to find
the cause.

In PGP prefs, you need to disable Messaging/Use PGP Messaging Service...

There are other annoying things about PGP 9 also but not worth
mentioning here. This company (and therefore its "crown jewels") has
gone seriously downhill over the years.

And note they are misleading about PGP "Whole Disk" or whatever it's
called. It is NOT a component of Personal Desktop.
