| Safari 2.0 fix? Anyone hear of a fix for Safari 2.0's problems with secure Web sites and certain Java applets? I tried DLing the previous version (1.2) only to be told that it couldn't be installed on my system (which is now running Tiger). -- Floydian Slip(tm) - "Broadcasting from the dark side of the moon" Random Precision Productions(tm) 67 Union St. #2D, Winooski, Vt. 05404-1948 USA Sundays, 7-8 pm; Champ 101.3 & 102.1 FM, Colchester/Randolph, Vt. ccb@floydianslip.com - AIM: RandomPrec - www.floydianslip.com |

Can you point to a reference describing the problem? I have no trouble with Safari 2 and secure sites, but I don't use much Java so probably don't see the "certain" applets at issue. Just curious. There is a page on MacFixit outlining known issues with Safari 2.0 and banking web sites. -- Andy Hewitt ** FAF#1, (Ex-OSOS#5) - FJ1200 ABS Honda Civic: Windows free zone (Mac G5 Dual Processor) http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/...tts2/index.htm (updated Feb 21 2005) |

I can confirm the problems. I've seen postings on-line recently regarding them, but am too lazy at the moment to go and find them. ;-) In my case, my online banking site worked fine with 1.x, but doesn't function properly with 2.0. Not a big deal for me. Overall, I like 2.0 better than 1.x, but it never was my primary browser so I really don't care all that much. |
