Edit>Find function in OS 10.4

Before upgrading to OS 10.4 I was able to use the Edit>Find function to
locate text in a TextEdit document saved as a .rtf file.

The Edit>Find function still works for Appleworks, Word and all other
documents but not for a TextEdit document saved as a .rtf file.

Any clues?

Correction!

Edit>Find function still works in a TextEdit document saved as a .rtf
file, BUT the screen does not jump to the page with the find
highlighted, I have to scroll down the page to find the highlighted section.

Steve Jobs said the new Finder will even locate text in a PDF. Now
THAT's impressive.

Just a thought -- do you perhaps have the bottom of the window off the
bottom of the screen?

No, but it is a page that is long enough to require scrolling down to
read all of it.

I was able to resolve the mail problem, as well as an Edit>Find issue in
TextEdit by purchasing Tiger Cache Cleaner.

Too bad I had to spend more money for this OS upgrade.
