Classic on Panther???


I bought a blue and white g3 at a hamfest the other day..it had n
operating system so i installed Panther but evidently the retail version o
Panther has no installer for classic..does this mean if I want it I gott
find buy a retail version of OS9? All I got with my other macs aroun
here is have 8.6. Just wondering cause in OSX help it says the only wa
to share the usb printer with the older macs is to use classic

That's right-- in order to get Classic Mode under OS X, you need to
install OS 9.

My iBook G4 came with Applications CDs, on which is found Classic. However,
I think those CDs only work on another G4 iBook. Still, you may want to
find someone who has a full CD set that came with their Apple hardware
(maybe one of the "snow" G3 iBooks)...
