I am teaching Final Cut Pro on OS X. The IT department will not allow me
to log on as an administrator which is causing some issues in my class.
For example if I need to do a disk permission repair, forget about it.
Am I asking too much to have access to the administration password?
Anyone else in this situation? Any suggestions?

Yep, you're asking too much. NO user should have admin access. The road
open to you is to expect from the admin what you need to do your job.
Demand from the admin everything you need to do your job - just don't expect
admin access as one of things you need. You simply don't.
