| Network Shares lost after reboot I recently got a Mac at work running on a Windows network environment. I have managed to easily connect to the network drives and shares that I need, but they are lost everytime I restart the mac. I have to back through the steps of adding them each time. Its quite a pain seeing as how I have many shares that I need to access each time. I'm pretty sure its just something that I am missing as I'm not all that familiar with Macs yet... and i'm sure the answer is obvious... but of course, I don't know it =) Anybody care to shed some light on this? Thanks! |

Connect to Server in the Finder and typing something like "smb://windozename"? If so, after you connect to it and it's mounted on your, make an alias of the server icon that's on your desktop. Then you should be able to just double-click that alias after a reboot or a logout/in and it will mount it for you. You can also add favorites to the Connect to Server window by typing the "smb://name" stuff into the field, then click the + button. Then it will show up in the list below, where you can easily double-click it to mount it. -- Steve Mills Mac geek, drummer |

Then a box shows up showing what share I want to add. Is there a way to have them automatically mount on boot up? I have about 5 shares that I will typically need to access. Would be nice that they just mount automatically. Is there a "Startup" folder as there is on Windows machines? |
