| Anyone using Belkin wireless ethernet adapter (or D-Link product)? Has anyone successfully used a Belkin wireless ethernet adapter, model F5D7330, to connect an apple computer that isn't wireless enabled (e.g. a Mac Mini without an airport card) to a wireless network using an Airport Express or Airport Extreme Base Station? Any special problems? In the alternative, anyone used a D-Link product, such as the USB wireless adapter (DWL-122) or the D-Link wireless bridge (DWL-G810) for the same purpose? Thanks, David -- To reply directly, please remove "nospam" from e-mail address |

The Dlink was working fine to surf the internet, but as soon as I tried to stream iTunes or mount a network share, the Mac would become unresponsive for about 45 seconds. When it came back, the wifi would not work until the machine was rebooted. Now, a local college uses these thing with their iBooks and they have no problems. Perhaps there are different revisions? The Belkin works 100% even though it's not even advertised as Mac compatible. The driver needs to be downloaded from their site. I have four of these in the house and they work fine. (10.3.8) |

| Re: Anyone using Belkin wireless ethernet adapter (or D-Link product)? Just bought and finished connecting a Dlink DI524 (wireless router) on a dsl modem and Imac which is on the ground floor of my home. In the basement I have a PC into which I plugged in the DWL-G122 USB wireless adapter. Seems to work fine. I'm presently on the PC. The setup intructions aren't very elaborate but the helpdesk support was good and had me sorted out pretty quick.... I was dubious but so far so good.. |
