| Continuing slip of iMac on order, why? Three weeks ago I place an order for a fully loaded 20inch iMac (250gig drive, airport, BT and wireless keyboard/mouse, 2gig memory) and every week since then the order get slipped a week. This is my first Mac and is this sort of long build time to be expected? ************************************************** *** "Vietnam is what we had instead of happy childhoods." Apple first told me the holdup was that the billing address for Vanderbilt University on the PO was not the same as what they had on record. Got that straightened out two weeks ago, and still nothing. My inside sales rep just said yesterday it's in process. There may be upgraded versions coming (the usual pattern when this happens), but it seems WAY too early in the product cycle for that. There may be issues obtaining some key component(s) due to demand (which has been great). My order was originally placed in early Feb, and now my order date for some unknown reason that REALLY ticks me off) says 03/03/05 with delivery 03/14/05. -- Brian Ehni |

Well I just got this morning an email that it has shipped. When I checked Apples site last night it was still slipped until the 10th. But now it has a FedEx tracking number and it shows leaving San Jose at 2am this morning bound for Texas. ************************************************** **** International War Veterans' Poetry Archives http://iwvpa.net/stovalja/nelson__.htm |

| Re: Continuing slip of iMac on order, why? Bought a 17 inch IMac with Wireless KB and mouse. Took about a week to be shipped from Shangai and another 4 days delivery via Ancherage and Memphis, so 10 days from initial order. That was 3 weeks ago (when it arrived). |

You're experiencing the bitter aspect of Mac ownership; the waiting. Apple is notoriously bad at order fulfillment times. I ordered a G5 in June; it wasn't delivered until the end of September. |
