Jef Raskin tribute asking for too much?

George Harrison dies, and Apple posts his mug on the home page for a
week. Jef Raskin dies, and not a word on the page. Where are your
priorities, Cupertino?

Jef's role in the design of Macintosh has been debated... while he
initiated the project, his vision of the Mac was very different than
what was released-- no mouse, no icons, no graphical user interface... a
very low price point.... not even a 680x0 CPU. He DID coin the name, but
that's about his only lasting influence on the Mac.

His ideas were eventually reflected in the Canon Cat... a computer that
went nowhere on the market.

Fairly early on, he was replaced by Steve Jobs-- and little love was
lost between them. (Raskin was quoted as saying re. Jobs "He would have
made a good king of France").

Most of us are aware of these fine points (my old company owned a CCAT
prototype in the early 90's, where it sat collecting dust with a
Fortune 32:16). But Jef did initiate the project, regardless of what
the final product had eventually morphed into. To use a crude
metaphor, the laws of physics have settled into a form different from
that after the Big Bang. But where would they be without the Big Bang?
