'Pacifist' was the name of a package that allowed you to extract
individual files from installer packages. That might allow you to
install an individual pref pane. Of course, you could also just
re-install OS X.

As for how to move the cursor in the meantime, booting from a different
copy of OS X (e.g. on an external drive or the system DVD) should get
your trackpad back. You could also plug in a USB mouse...I think that
should work at any rate.
That's what I come up with off the top of my head, anyway. HTH

Have you tried restarting? It seems like that would do it.

If not, why not see if you can get a copy of it from someone else? It
couldn't hurt, and it would sure beat reinstalling the entire os.

Entity Opus spoke thus:

I've uploaded my prefpanel to a server here:
http://home.earthlink.net/~gnarlodio...d.prefPane.zip

1) Download it
2) Unzip the file to your desktop
3) Open Terminal, in Applications>Utilities
4) Paste this command in Terminal:

sudo cp -R ~/Desktop/ Keyboard.prefPane.zip
/System/Library/PreferencePanes/

NOTE THAT THE COMMAND IS ONE LINE, you will have to unwrap the 2 lines you
see here into one line before you paste it into Terminal
5) Start the Preferences Application, if the Keyboard prefpanel does not
work you will need to Repair Permissions
