iTunes-PayPal deal still good?

Anyone know if the "Open a new iTunes account with PayPal and get 5 free
downloads" deal is still good? It's supposed to be offered for the first
500,000 signups. I don't know how long the deal has been offered - have
500k people signed up already?

Is this only for _new_ iTunes accounts? I've already got one that pays
by credit card. If I change it to pay via PayPal, do I get 5 free tunes,
too?

Isn't PayPal.com an authoritative source for this question?

Did you try going to http://www.apple.com/itunes/ ? If you do you'll
see a big banner at the top that still advertises the promotion.

I signed up for it even though I already had an iTunes account. The hook
is not to get you to sign up with iTunes, but to get you to buy your
iTunes through PayPal. There seems to be a small charge for using
PayPal, so each song works out to be 1.06. So after your 82nd song
purchase, PayPal will start making a profit off you.
