The Playlist notes clearly say that the mixtape is free, and the other stuff is the tracks that inspired it. The mixtape is listed as free, whereas the other tracks are each listed as 99c. The mixtape is also over 25 minutes, which is consistent with complete shorter CDs. The other songs averaged 3-4 minutes. I'm not convinced it is the fault of iTunes music store that you didn't look at their description, given that it listed the prices. unless of course the iTunes store description was different when you viewed it. However, wouldn't complaining to the iTunes store that their advertising was misleading, and asking for a refund, be a better move than complaining in a newsgroup? Wow, I just wish I had an iTunes store in this country so I could download anything at all from them. > Item Number Description Unit Price > > > Q0262 Street Official Mixtape, Vol. 1 $0.00 > Q0262 Freedom Fighters $0.00 > Q0002 Guiding Resolution $0.99 > Q0002 Kanstrumental 3 $0.99 > Q0002 One By One $0.99 > Q0002 The Hole Repertoire $0.99 > Q0002 My Mind Is Racing $0.99 > Q0002 Endless $0.99 > Q0002 Worldwide $0.99 > Q0002 Live As It Gets (Featuring Medaphoar & Oh No) $0.99 > Q0002 T.R.A.C.K.S. The American iTunes Music Store just won't sell to anyone outside the USA (or give away their free downloads.) There are also iTMSs in several European countries, that only sell to people in those countries. Apple is supposed to be finally opening a Canadian iTMS sometime this month. -- Quando omni flunkus moritati Visit the Buffy Body Count at <http://homepage.mac.com/dsample/> |

With Canadian revenue about to pour in, Apple's stock should go even higher. (for anyone who doesn't follow the US Stock market, Apple has gone from around $30 to $55 in the last few months) http://tools.thestreet.com/tsc/quote...b=aapl&x=0&y=0 GW |

I did both and the iTunes Music store did give me a refund. However, finding an email contact for the store was not easy. Once I contacted them they were VERY Helpful! :) |

It is the iTunes music store that isn't fully available outside the USA and (more recently) much of Europe. Originally you needed a US based credit card available, which is something I might be able to bypass. My recent contacts with iTMS seem to indicate they may track location by IP number, as they now identify my contact as being from a non-USA location. Next time I'm visiting the USA I may see if I can buy something. You could download the 30 second samples, although since I'm on dialup I don't often bother. You don't get to buy music, nor get the free samples. You can sign up for the newsletter so you can see the tunes you are missing each week. The Gracenotes song details lookup works fine, as you would expect. As an aside, given the sales of iPods, their actual song capacity, and the number of songs iTunes have sold, surely either most iPods are mostly empty, or most iPod users have sourced material from other areas such as CDs. I have a couple of thousand items in my iTunes, mostly from old CDs. I was delighted to note the original poster did indeed contact iTunes music store and did get a refund. Good to hear that the store is doing the right thing, even if it was hard to find the proper people to talk to. -- http://www.ericlindsay.com |
