| Ibook nightmares I have a Ibook G3-500 which seems very unreliable. Apple changed the motherboard two times under warranty. They gives extension warranty on these motherboards because there's too much problems in the past The motherboard was changed last week and yesterday the hard drive broke. Now I can boot the Ibook with my Cdrom and use my external hard drive with the Ibook. On this external HD, there's OSX10.3 and OS9.2. I can easily boot with the OSX10.3 but i'm unable to boot with the 9.2 partition. Why ? I also tried to install OS9.2 in this Ibook with a Genuine Ibook 9.2 installation Cd but was unable install it on a second partition on the iBook HD. Why ? Finally, The HD in the iBook is doing 'scratching noise'. The beat of the noise I hear is always the same. Is there a way I can make this HD alive ? Thanks Marc Legare |
