Should I upgrade my Imacs?

I have a large inventory of G3-based 350 Mhz iMacs currently running OS
9.x. I am considering upgrading their RAM to 256kb (or 512) from
current 128, and installing the latest version of OS X, on all machines.

Will the upgraded machines be able to reasonably efficiently run basic
clerical functions such as Microsoft Office (individual applications,
only)? Or do I really need to purchase all new equipment?

Opinions would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Njord

My iMac is only 333mhz. I installed 512kb RAM, last fall, and OSX this
spring (10.3.5 now). I frequently run a half dozen applications at the
same time, like two web browsers, mail, Appleworks, Quicktime, etc. The
only limitation I personally see, is that when I'm streaming video from
MLB.com which takes 360kbs of bandwidth, it takes, sometimes, a full
second for another application to respond (when the baseball game goes
to commercial).
