USB HD

My wife's backup backup USB HD is bo longer showing on her desktop. Her
backup USB HD is OK using the same connecting cable. Is there a way to
"connect" to this unseen HD for a possible reformatting?

If you are on OS X, try restarting or loging out and then back in.

Nope, 9.2.2. We have restarted with the HD running, started the HD with
the iMac booted, unplugged the HD and replugged, etc. I even tried Disk
Warrior, but no HD. System Profiler shows no device connected to this
USB port.

Are you using a hub?
If so try connecting directly to your computer.

We have directly connected it to 3 computers, 2 iMacs and a Pismo with
the same lack of success.
