log out in 10.3.5

I was able to log out in 10.3.5 but there was no window to log back in,
only an empty desktop with a default blue and white desktop. In 10.2 I
was able to log back in. This time I had to shut down my computer with
the power button and then restart it.

Never mind.
Just tried it again and it worked, a log in screen appeared.
