Does my G5 need more ram?

My G5 regularly locks up every day (only the mouse moves - all
applications stop responding.) It usually happens when I am running
Thoth, Toast and iMovie. The only thing Im really using it for right
now is importing video to iMovie, then burning a dvd with Toast. It
usually locks up while exporting from iMovie or while Toast is burning
a dvd.

The last crash happened at 17:11 and here is the latest crash log:

Aug 8 15:40:04 cuths-Computer kernel: handleUnrecoverableErrorInt

Im running 10.3.4 with 512 MB factory ram.

Here's vm_stat:

You can go to <http://www.applelinks.com/pm/more.php?id=1649_0_1_0> and
see if this application, which is designed to let you know if you need
more ram, is the right one for you.

Thanks Erica - I did check this out and after awhile I do see my system
start to page out to disk. Maybe I will put another 512 mb of RAM in.

I continue to have crashes frequently - sometimes 3x a day. They are
all the same, only the mouse arrow will move. I cant alt-tab to any
other application. I read on one of the mac boards to try holding down
command +shift + q - this is supposed to let me re-login from a gui
crash but that hasnt worked either.

Thanks for the help.

I used to have that sort of crash every now and then. I discovered that
if I left the machine to think a while, it would eventually recover --
usually after about 20 minutes.

It happened with annoying frequency for about a month, and then it
mysteriously went away. Hasn't happened in probably two months, though I
have had two kernal panics in the last two days.
