| MAC Classic II - TCP/IP Networking All, I have set up my MAC with and ASANTE SCSI to Ethernet adapter. I have manually set the IP Address on the device using MacTCP on the EtherTalk(A) adapter. I have set the AppleTalk connection to EtherTalk Alternative. Everything looks OK, however I cannot ping the Mac and the Mac cannot browse (I set the gateway and DNS server in the MacTCP control panel). I have verified the ethernet port to the network is active. Am I missing something obvious? Regards. Mark |

Do you have a default route? I have set the default gateway in MacTCP. I don't know where I would run netstat -r - is there a command line on Mac's? |

You would simply pop open a terminal to do that. You mention "ping" so I assumed you had terminal access. You'd run netstat from wherever you ran "ping" from :) -- Small Tree Communications 10Gb Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet solutions for your MAC http://www.small-tree.com 1-866-STC-4MAC |
