Mac acting strange

My G4 400 running OS 9.2.2 has begun acting very strange. In all
applications the typing outruns the screen, i.e. I have to wait for the
screen to catch up. Is there some Mac spyware or virus recently? The
only different use recently has been my grandkids playing games online -
kid games that is, not interactive. What else they may have gotten into
I don't know.

Everything runs fine in Panther but when I starup in OS 9 I get the
slowdown. Anyone have any ideas?

Dick

Re: Mac acting strange

Sounds like the "Auto Start" worm. Turn off Start Playing at start up in
Quicktime and read this:

WormScanner 2.3.1 Rating:

License: Freeware

Information:
WormScanner scans your local drives for the AutoStart 9805 worm variants
(A through F) and will also alert you to unknown files with suspiciously
similar properties.
