YOU AND I WIN A FREE IPOD.... Here's how....

Hello all-

I apologize for this spam-like post. I am a starving student and a
Mac-addict. I have wanted an iPod for a couple of years now. I noticed a
website that is offering "free" iPods (including the 15 GB version) for
those who sign up for a FREE partner trial offer (which is immediately
cancel-able), and make 5 completed referrals. THATİ–S IT!

Obviously, I am trying to get some referrals so I can get my machine. I have
found a way of completing an offer and then IMMEDIATELY cancelling it; this
way you don't get suckered into PAYING for any of the "free" offers that are
required by this program.

Here's how you do it:

Go to http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=6985010 and sign up!!!

Then, I recommend you sign up for Ancestry.com as your partner offer. They
are the best because they immediately register you as a member and you don't
have to wait, and you can then immediately cancel the offer over the phone,
it took me two minutes to cancel. Just *remember* to cancel right away, they
charge 99$ after 14 days and you don't want that...

Last, have five friends sign up and do the same thing.

Then get your iPod!!! Reliable reports say you receive it straight from
Apple Computer in 5 weeks, give or take.

Thanks for reading, and your help. HELP MAKE THIS PROGRAM WORK FOR
EVERYONE, VISIT MY SITE, AND THEN GET STARTED ON YOUR FREE IPOD!!!

http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=6985010

Thanks! :-)

I really can't be bothered signing up just to be able to read the small
print, but if this is the same one I've read about elsewhere then it's
an SCAM!

In fact it's simply a new take on the ILLEGAL Pryamid Scheme scam!

AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!!

Even at best you've probably voided your contract with them by posting
this spam message. It's been reported, so you can look forward to
losing your account there.

It isn't "spam-like". It is just plain spam. And an illegal
pyramid scam to boot. Being a starving student is not an
excuse for participating in a scam, any more than it is an excuse
to rob the bank down the street.

Thatıs preposterous, and judging by a cursory glance at your posting
history, you look like you should know better.

Ever heard the term, ³no purchase necessary?² That means that
participation in their program and a chance at receiving an iPod is NOT
contingent on money. Money is required to participate in any Œpyramid
scheme,ı by definition. That is clearly NOT the case here.

At worst, www.freeipods.com is an example of ³viral² or multilevel (e.g.,
MLM) marketing, which while objectionable to some, happens to be legal. It
would be like saying the next Pepsi bottle-cap sweepstakes is a form of
illegal gambling because chances to win prizes are included with purchase
of participating products, as well as being available free by request over
postal mail.

If you persist in your disagreement, feel free. The "Chief of Operations"
appears to want to partner in your ignorance.

Short of you being able to cite case law, specific statute, or some other
reference for your charge of this being illegal, stick it in your ear.

Or even better, donıt participate! Note in the ŒRulesı section on the
main page of www.freeipods.com they note you are not even guaranteed to
receive your iPod if you participate in their programŠ I believe they use
the other phrase, ³while supplies last.² Consider yourself warned.

So, you're a self-appointed "Pillock-buster" (whatever the **** that
means) who admits he doesn't even read the fine print, can't spell
"illegal," and doesn't appear to understand the legal definition of "pyramid
scheme"..... ? Is that right?

Pyramid schemes and MLM scams *ARE* illegal in most countries. Tough
cheese if you don't want to believe that, but don't come complaining to
us when you get arrested and never get an iPod.

If you want to be an utter moron and sign you life away to scam, then
go right ahead, but everyone else deservers to be warned that it *IS* a
scam and *IS* illegal and *MUST* be avoided.

Maybe you should find an ILLEGAL PYRAMID SCAM that gives out "free"
braincells instead.

Killfiled for being THE biggest pillock on the planet.

Abuse reports sent to Yahoo.com, Earthlink.net and Scamming iPod
website.
