| Panther Startup/Shutdown Schedule I'd like my computer to shut down at night and restart itself in the morning. Should be simple enough via the Energy Saver window in the System Preferences. However, whenever I put in my desired startup/shutdown time, (and even lock the lock to prevent changes), it doesn't "stick". I can go right back to the same schedule panel only to find the times I'd input have disappeared, leaving the default setting of 0:00 AM for both startup and shutdown. Can anyone advise me on this? Could it have anything to do with my setting the "Sleep" settings to "Never"? (I've had to set Sleep to never, because my monitors never wake from sleep for some reason. : / |

To fix: Go back to your energy settings, click the little pyramid to reveal the advanced settings. Change your DISPLAY sleep to "never". Adjust the other settings as you like. -- Cheers, _Chas_ http://www.apple.com/switch non-spammers can write to chasm at mac (dot com) |

I found the same disappearance, so to double check I set a shutdown and wake just a couple of minutes into the future and they worked fine, so then I set them to the desired times and not only do they work, but the now show in the schedule. -- Ron |
