| OS9-Missing Video Digitizer?? Mac OS 9.2.2, G3/Beige 233, 224 MB RAM. Every time I attach a digital camera that allegedly will operate as a web cam, I get errors that I am missing the video digitizer. I've tried Yahoo Messenger for OS 9 which is supposed to read a camera (in this case on a Keyspan USB card) to no avail. Same is true with the free version of CuSeeMe. I'm stumped. Everything I read says that this should be a plug and play deal. The camera itself shows up as a hard drive and there is no problem copying pictures of its memory. So I know the camera is working as it should for stills. I've tried a couple of combo digital cameras that are supposed to also work as a web cam with the same error. I have what I believe to bea full install of OS 9.2.2 and I have scanned the installer CD to see if there is anything I am missing. I even reinstalled a few extensions associated with multimedia just to be sure. Suggestions welcome! DMK |

I now have a Vivitar but it does not operate as a web cam. I tried two others belonging to other people but I forget the brand names. According to available docs on hand, I should be able to plug in a web cam to the USB port and have it recognized or at least make it selectable. Any effort to do so was met with an error message that the video digitizer was not found or words to that effect. DMK |
