How do you get the waveform and vectorscope to read when you log and capture?

Click on the "Clip Settings" tab of the Log and Capture window. You will
see a "Waveform Monitor and Vectorscope" button. That should do what you
want.

Yes...this is true, but how do you get final cut to read your video
levels from a DVC tape you are log and capturing from. I've clicked on
the Waveform button and play the video, but it doesn't read the
levels.
