| Safari browser vs. MS Advanced authentication? Hello, I'm a total Mac newbie but my company has asked me to solve the following problem: We run an Intranet server on IIS and the server needs MS authentication in order to identify the users and show a personal front page for each user. The Macs are running either MS IE 5.1 or the Safari browser. IE works fine, but as MS are going to stop supporting IE for Macs, we would like to use the Safari browser on all computers. Now IIS has two security levels: Basic (NTLM?) and extended (Kerberos?) security. So far, if we enable basic security on the IIS, the Macs using Safari gets prompted for a username/password when accessing the intranet - And the user is allowed access to the server. But this doesn't work if we only allow extended security to be used. My problem is that my company are planning to use MS SharePoint server for the intranet. This server only supports MS Extended security, and thus we can't use the Safari browser on the Macs! I've tried searching the site at Apple and Microsoft for a solution to this, but so far I haven't been able to find anything about this problem. Can anyone please help me with some information about how to solve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mads |
