G5 iMac?

Hi All,

I'm finally coming back to Apple after years of getting beatup by
Wintel. The straw that boke the camel's back was when the program
hive in the registry became corrupted. No hardware problem, just more
M$ entertainment. Sorry for the vent. My question is, does anyone
have a feel for when a G5 powered iMac might be released? I like the
design of the iMac and the software that comes with it. But I
hesitate to buy a current G4 model if there is a G5 on the horizon.

Thanks.

Good for you!

My educated guess would be approximately a year from now, unless they
completely redesign the iMac to accommodate the heat issues.

My record on Oscar predicitions is appalling, but my psychic abilities
where Apple are concerned is pretty good. I certainly don't see a G5
iMac in the near future -- the G4 has a good run left in it, as there
are reports of G4s made by moto (!) running at 1.5GHz and possibly
beyond that. I suspect the G4 will be with us (at least in the consumer
line) a while longer.
