| Airport Antenna Cable Replacement I recently obtained a refurbished Powerbook G4. It's one of the newer models (M8980LL/A) with specs: 15" screen 1GHz G4 256MB DDR2700 (333) 60GB HDD Built-in Bluetooth Firewire 400 and 800 Airport Extreme Ready My problem lies in that the Airport Extreme Antenna Cable is buggered. The plug that is supposed to attach to the Airport Extreme card is missing. Looks like it was ripped off or some such thing. The company is looking at it now to decide to repair the problem or replace the whole unit (with a different refurb). I am wondering if anyone has ever had a need to replace this cable (for any reason) and if so, what was involved? How is the cable attached on the other end (I didn't take off the back panel)? Soldered to the motherboard and the antennae attach there as well? Direct cable from the antennae to the airport card, so I'd need to replace all of that? Or what? Like I said, they are supposed to remedy it, but I was just wondering what the chances are of repair or a different replacement unit. Jason |
