What tasks should be done regularly?

In OS X Panther, what tasks should be done regularly? I usually put my
laptop to sleep at night, so I'm not sure if any cron stuff is being done.
What tasks in particular should I make sure get done on a regular basis?
Fixing permissions is one. What else is there?

And what time do they run? Maybe setting the energy settings to sleep after
that time would be doable.

I have Cronaid on my Pismo. It compares the crontab to the logs and if a
script is over due, it runs it.

Worked in Jaguar and works in Panther.
