| Troubles w/ PowerBook G4 Airport hi! i just got a new PowerBook G4 with Pather + Airport Extreme card. i have and existing home wired/wireless network with a SonicWall TZW at it's heart. unfortunately, so far i have not been able to get my new PowerBook to connect over my wireless network, though my other hardware (an IBM Thinkpad and HP print server) do just fine. the problem appears to be related to the exchange of WEP keys. i *am* able to connect with WEP disabled, but i don't want to operate my network that way. i have already had contact with Apple and SonicwWall over this and i'm still sorting their help (or lack thereof) out. oh, also, my new PowerBook has sucessfully connected to other wireless networks both WEP-enabled and not. anyway, if anyone has some thoughts on this, i'd appreciate it. i'm not about to give up on this. the PowerBook and the router (SonicWall TZW) are both very expensive pieces of hardware supposedly complying with the same standard(s) of wireless communication so this dog's gonna hunt one way or the other... thanks in advance, Mike |
