dBug Main Meeting February 11 (Seattle, WA)

While Apple may have decided to take a subdued approach to acknowledging
the 20th anniversary of the Mac, Seattle's premier Mac user group, dBug,
will be making some noise to celebrate their big two-oh.

It was in April of 1984 that a few early adopters met in the back room
of a computer retail store to form what is now one of the oldest and
most successful Mac user groups ever. Over the years, members have
included such industry notables as TidBITs Adam Engst, authors Glenn
Fleishman and David Blatner, and Rand and Robyn Miller of Myst fame.
Past presenters at group meetings have included virtually every major
corporation in the Mac universe. (It doesn't hurt to be so near Adobe's
north campus and Microsoft. In fact, if you liked Word 5.1, you owe a
tip of the hat to dBug, whose members gave a significant earful of
mostly constructive feedback to it's developers one memorable meeting
before it's release.)

This month, Apple returns to help dBug raise the roof with iLife and
iPod. Seattle native, musician and Apple music maven Clark Schroeder
(a.k.a. "Flying Fingers of Madness") will put down the funky beat with
GarageBand and more. Like Kurt Cobain, Eddie Vetter and the subject of
that other Pepsi Super Bowl commercial, Jimi Hendrix, come see him
inspire the next generation of Seattle jammers.

And the proud dBug tradition of raffles continues with a chance to win a
shiny new iPod or a copy of iLife '04.

The first meeting of the Mac dBug Twentieth Anniversary party will begin
on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 6:30 pm at the dBug Resource Center,
9620 Stone Ave. N, Suite 202, Seattle WA 98103. Non members are always
welcome at any dBug event.
