OSX - sym link to iTunes library

I am trying to free up space on my startup volume. I have a Powerbook
w/48 gig hard drive partitioned into 4 volumes. My startup volume is
getting full, due to a large collection of music and photos. I would
like to move the Music and Photos folders from my home directory onto
one of my other volumes. I know that making a symbolic link should
work, but before I try it I would like a post from someone with more
UNIX knowledge than me for a step by step tutorial.

Thanks for any info.

Dave
