In Jaguar, there's a separate control panel called "Login Items" (if memory serves); in Panther, "Startup Items" is a pane in the "Accounts" control panel/System Preference. Find the icon for the directory and drag it into the correct pane. > 2. How do I save window positions in Aqua's desktop. The comparable file to edit, should you stick with tcsh, is ..cshrc. > Thanks so much. Hopefully I will be able solve these problems and start > using my Mac full-time and put my PC in the closet! I have an older Linksys B router, and connect to it without problem with Windows systems (XP and ME), and with an older Airport card in one Mac and a new Airport Extreme in another... the single 'gotcha' occurs if you have encryption turned on on the router. In that case, on the Mac, you need to enter the hexadecimal version of the passkey -- not the simple passphrase you used to generate the passkey AND you need to enter a '$' character (without the quotes) in front of the passkey text. > |
