Is Pastor (password storage program) safe? Any "known safe"password storage apps out there?

Is anyone using the software called Pastor? It's a cool, free application
for keeping track of all your login and password information. I'd like to
use it, but now I'm getting paranoid: writing such an app sounds like a
perfect scam - it can collect people's login info and then upload it to the
owner's computer. Voila - access to lots of people's most critical stuff!
Does anyone know anything about this program in particular (safe or not), or
have a pointer to a similar app which is known to be safe (source code
available or something like that)? Any thoughts would be greatly
appreciated!

If you're paranoid about this (no reason not to be), use LittleSnitch to
block any such outgoing traffic. m.

PS I use Web Confidential for the purpose you describe.
